Dr. Kevorkian Lite?

A member of the Quantum-Touch website message board brought up an excellent question some weeks ago.

-------------------

The Question

-------------------

He referenced a recent Quantum-Touch newsletter article titled, “Q-T Use Helps Grandmother Peacefully Transcend!” The article described how the contributor had helped her dying grandmother relax and overcome her fear of death.

The fact that she died two days later led the message board member to ask: “How [much longer] would she have lived if she kept being stubborn and fearing death?”

I had a sense that there was a question within this question that was going unanswered, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

Finally, I realized what the underlying question was: Did Q-T facilitate a “mercy killing” for the grandmother?

The Reply

-------------

I’m reprinting my (quite spiffed-up!) reply here:

I'm inferring that you are equating allowing people to die a peaceful death through energy healing and a calm acceptance to killing people off with energy healing and acceptance!

I secretly entertained the same question some years ago. I was beginning my studies of one of the other modalities I work with, Jin Shin Jyutsu.

One of the things JSJ instructors teach is that the "#4's" have a lot to do with consciousness entering into the body. (These points are beneath the base of the skull, about four fingers' width from the midline; they are known by acupuncturists as the Gall Bladder #20 points.) Because of their relation to consciousness, they are good for bringing comatose people out of comas AND for helping dying people transition.

---------------------

Yes, But . . .

---------------------

I couldn’t shake my uneasy feeling that holding these points on a dying person would actually be killing them.

-----------------

And yet . . .

-----------------

And yet, it's quite obvious that the same points that allow people to calmly and easily die also allow them to come out of comas! Clearly, you're simply making sure it has enough energy to do what it needs to do.

If one person is in a coma and there are energetic obstructions of some kind, those obstructions will dissolve so life can proceed in the normal and natural way. In this case, coming out of a coma would be the “normal and natural” way.

A second person might be dying. But there are obstructions of fear which are not allowing the natural and appropriate process of death to occur smoothly. In this case, energy work that allows those obstructions to dissolve so life can draw to its end peacefully is the “normal and natural” way.

------------

Aha!

------------

My last smidgeon of uneasiness was put to an end because of a class I had with JSJ instructor Wayne Hackett. During that class, Wayne told the story of being called to the side of an elderly friend who was on his deathbed. His friend had been lingering for days and days in great pain, his breathing harsh and labored.

So Wayne decided to hold his friend's “#4's” to help him transition. He held the points for some time.

Abruptly, his friend coughed up a lot of gunk. Color returned to his face. He opened his eyes and was alert and asked for something to eat. He was in great shape!

About a week later, he died peacefully in his sleep.

So you see, Wayne's intention to help his friend transition did not kill him off. What his friend most needed at that time was help clearing his lungs, which helped him breathe easily and feel good. And when it was truly time for him to die, he did, quite calmly and in good spirits.

Similarly, Sister Theresa’s hospice in India was devoted to seeing to it that dying beggars passed on while surrounded with love. But many seemingly dying people actually survived because of that same love.

Dr. Kevorkian Lite?

You are not dooming people to premature death because you offer them healing to ease their passing from this life. As in any Quantum-Touch healing, the “healer” accepts (or does not accept) what he or she needs and the energy goes where it is most appropriate for it to go.

Fear is a stuck place. When it is time to go, you don't really prolong your "life" in any meaningful sense through your fear and resistance. You simply get stuck in the transitional phase between life and death.

People who spend their lives fearful and resisting life don't end up living longer - chronic fear and stuck energy mess up their biochemistry and they have less life, in every sense of the word!

We're not talking about "allowing someone to die" in Dr. Kevorkian’s sense! Allowing and acceptance simply shorten the transitional phase between life and death. They do not kill.

If you've misunderstood the need of the moment, and the time for the person's death has not yet come, they will use the energy to get better – even if your intention is to help them transition. If it's their time to go, they will go - even if your intention was to help them keep on living. And they'll go peacefully and well.

-----------------------

Back to Basics . . .

-----------------------

... Back to Basic Q-T, that is! Actually, back to the basics of all healing. As healing facilitators, our job is to get out of the way and offer the energy. The “healer” accepts it – or not – and uses it for his or her highest good in that moment, whatever that may be.
