Sedating Dr. Strangelove

One of the fantastic qualities of Quantum-Touch is its
versatility. It makes virtually any healing modality more
effective. And it's a two-way street – sometimes another
discipline can make Q-T even more efficient. One of my
absolute favorite techniques is using Quantum-Touch with
acupressure strengthening and sedating points.
 
While the technique I'm going to discuss is a must for
dealing with any autoimmune disorder, I have had particular
success in using it with Rheumatoid arthritis. I had a
client, a gentleman in his sixties, who had suffered for
five years with a rare form of Rheumatoid arthritis which
primarily affected his upper body. I had worked on him a
couple of times. When the session was over, he would
express delight at the experience, telling of wonderful
colors and visions he'd had. But once he rose up from the
table, there seemed to be absolutely no change in his pain
level.
 
I had recently read Donna Eden's book "Energy Medicine,"
and had been intrigued by her chapter on sedating and
strengthening points. The next time I saw him, I used these
points as I'll describe below. After four or five of these
sessions, he declared, "This is the first time I've been
pain-free in five years!"
 
Another client was a fourteen-year old girl who had been
diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. She had suffered for two
years from the disorder and had begun chemotherapy
treatment a couple of months before I saw her. After the
first session, her mother informed me that her daughter was
already so much better that she'd slept through the night
for the first time in months.
 
TRIPLE HEATER AND SPLEEN
 
Donna Eden explains that the Triple Heater and Spleen
represent two arms of the immune system.
 
The Triple Heater is the military aspect of the immune
system, the General. Its vital role is to be on the lookout
for invaders, and to defend your borders against all
comers. But at times it becomes overvigilant.
 
The Spleen is the Great Mother of the immune system,
wanting to make sure that every aspect of the system is in
perfect harmony.
 
Autoimmune disorders occur when the General goes bananas
and morphs into Dr. Strangelove! For whatever reason, the
Triple Heater loses it and starts attacking all comers. And
if the Great Mother aspect happens to be in a weakened
state, there's no one there to reign in the mad General.
 
SEDATING DR. STRANGELOVE
 
The solution? We must provide some heavy sedation to bring
Dr. Strangelove back to his senses. Bring on the Triple
Heater Sedation points! 
 
There are two pairs of sedation points for the Triple
Heater (see Point Locations below):
(1) Hold ST #36 with TH #10; next,
(2) Hold TH #2 with BL #66.
 
Hold both sets of points on one side of the body first
(either the right or left), and then on the other side
of the body, as you do your Q-T sweeping and breathing. You
can hold them for 3 minutes or until you feel the cessation
of sensation, just as you would with "classic" Q-T. The
cessation of sensation may take more than 3 minutes, which
is fine, but don't decide that more is necessarily better
and overdue it by holding past the point where the body has
signaled "enough." No pressure is necessary. As in any
energy work, other signs that you're done could be a sudden
sigh from the client, or a sudden bout of stomach gurgling.
 
STRENGTHENING THE GREAT MOTHER
 
VERY IMPORTANT: Next, hold the Spleen strengthening points.
Although you could get away with holding only the Triple
Heater sedation points for a few sessions, people who have
done that over a period of time have sometimes fallen into
a depression. Although we want to calm Triple Heater down,
its vigilance serves a vital purpose, and we don't want to
extinguish it! As long as you both sedate TH and strengthen
SP during each session, you don't have to worry – your
client will be fine.
 
There are two pairs of strengthening points for the Spleen
(see Point Locations below):
(1) Hold HT #8 with SP #2; next,
(2) Hold SP #1 with LV #1.
 
LOCATION OF SEDATING POINTS FOR TRIPLE HEATER
 
ST #36 (Stomach #36): You can ask your client to place
their palm over their kneecap - the point is located to the
right of the bottom of the kneecap, in the muscle next to
the bone, level with the point at which the middle finger
ends as it hangs over the kneecap.
 
TH #10: When the elbow is flexed, the point is in the
depression about 1” above the tip of the elbow (referring
to the area between the elbow and the shoulder, not the
area between the elbow and the wrist).
 
BL #66 (Bladder #66): On the outer side of the small toe,
in the depression in front of the base joint.
 
TH #2: On the back of the hand, in the depression between
the little finger and the ring finger, about half an inch
down from the knuckle when the fist is clenched. 
 
LOCATION OF STRENGTHENING POINTS FOR SPLEEN
 
HT #8 (Heart #8): Surface of the palm – between the 4th &
5th metacarpal bones (4th & little fingers), about an inch
or so below the webbing between the two fingers.  When a
fist is made, the point will be found where the tip of the
little finger rests.
 
SP #2: On the inner side (i.e., the inner ankle side) of
the big toe, in the depression formed by the cleft of the
bone behind the base joint, on the border of the “red and
white” flesh.
 
SP #1: On the inner side (i.e., the inner ankle bone side)
of the big toe, at the bottom corner of the nail.
 
LV #1 (Liver #1): On the side of the big toe opposite to
SP1, beneath the bottom corner of the nail, halfway between
the bottom corner of the nail and the first joint.

This is my favorite kind of technique – really simple and
really powerful. I encourage you to put it to use. I'd love
